KICK-OFF
The Dallas Baptist University Men's Soccer team remained unbeaten to start the 2016 season after a 1-1 draw with Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Saturday, September 3, in Waxahachie, Texas.
Jacob Garcia was the hero of the game once again after scoring the tying goal in the 78th minute.
The Lions got on the scoreboard first in the 30th minute, when Miguel Torres scored his second goal of the year, assisted by Bonia Velasquez. The goal was the only blemish for freshman goalkeeper
Tyler Hoffman, making his first start, who made seven saves.

The Patriots continue their early-season roadtrip against Ouachita Baptist University at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Jacob Garcia has come off the bench in both games this season to score a crucial goal for DBU. He scored the gamewinner in Thursday's season opener and the tying goal on Saturday.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
The Tigers are off to a 2-0-0 start with two shutout victories over Southwest Baptist University and William Jewell College over the weekend. Joey Zerbo assisted the second goal in the win over Southwest Baptist and scored the gamewinner against William Jewell in extra time to assert himself as the leader of the OBU offense.

Nelson Pacheco has made 10 saves and recorded two clean sheets in 187:47 of play in the first two matches. He faced a total of 27 shots.

SERIES HISTORY
DBU is 0-2-0 alltime against Ouachita Baptist, losing the last meeting on the road in 2014 by a score of 5-3. Kaleb Banning scored twice in the first 16 minutes, which would prove to be the difference.
