THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team (6-6-1. 3-5-1 Heartland Conference) lost its second straight 1-0 decision to Eastern New Mexico (3-9-1, 2-7) Thursday at Patriot Soccer Field.

After Ethan Martinez's penalty shot was narrowly saved from the bottom left corner of the goal by Cody Wann, Jesus Garcia scored his second goal of the season on a give-and-go from Christopher Mesquita in the 56th minute. A flurry of chances late in the game could not find the net to give DBU the equalizer.

Sean Bouland made two saves in his fourth start of the season.


THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots honored 10 seniors before the game. All 10 started the match.

 - Ryan Anderson extended his streak of games started to 70. He has started every game of his DBU career.

 - The Patriots extended their scoreless streak to three straight games.

"It's tough when you feel like you did almost everything right. We controlled the possession. We controlled the shots. We dictated the speed of play.  We held them to very little defensively. We just weren't able to find the goal today."

0-2 - After Martinez's penalty kick was saved, the Patriots are now 0-2 on penalties this season. The Patriots have yet to allow a penalty kick.
