Men's Soccer Falls to West Texas A&M in Final Home Game

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team (6-7-1. 3-6-1 Heartland Conference) lost its fourth straight game in a physical 3-0 decision to West Texas A&M on Saturday.

Chris Johnson opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with an assist from Gabe WIlliams. Julio Vargas made it 2-0 less than four minutes later, assisted by Reece Schattle. Vargas's second goal of the game made it 3-0 in the 63rd.

The Patriots only managed one shot on goal.


THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
  - Ryan Anderson extended his streak of games started to 71. He has started every game of his DBU career.

 - The Patriots still have yet to score a goal in October.

- West Texas A&M retains its lead in the Heartland Conference West Division.

"A tough loss to a tough team. We had a bit of a slow start, and they got a third goal late when we were sending guys forward. I'm proud of how our guys finished the game and played hard towards the end."
