THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team (6-5-1. 3-4-1 Heartland Conference) lost 1-0 to No. 15 St. Edward's (9-2-1, 6-1-1) Saturday at Patriot Soccer Field.

Samuel Jackson scored the game's only tally in the sixth minute on an assist from John-Mathew Tofey. The Patriots only put one shot on target all game.

Tyler Hofmann made five saves, four of which came in the second half.


THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots were shut out in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

 - Ryan Anderson extended his streak of games started to 68. He has started every game of his DBU career.

  - The loss was only DBU's second at home this year, and its first since September 14.

"In the Heartland Conference, it's always a good battle, a tactical battle. Our guys fought extremely hard, creating chances all the way up until the last second. We just didn't get one in, but I'm proud of our guys' effort."


INSIDE THE NUMBERS
71:45 - The Patriots were held without a shot on goal until the 71:45 mark, the second straight game they had gone more than an hour without a shot on target.

3 - Ethan Martinez's three shot attempts led DBU.

5 -  Hofmann has saved at least five shots in five of his last six games.
