Basketball Puts Up Season-High 103 Points in Win Over Concordia

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Basketball team controlled the second half in a 103-90 win over Concordia on Friday at the St. Edward's Thanksgiving Tournament. After falling behind 5-0 early - the largest deficit DBU has faced this year - the Patriots only spent 1:10 of the second half with a lead of less than 10 points.

Jordan Manse scored a team-high 29 points, highlighted by a six-of-eight performance from beyond the arc. As a team, DBU shot 54.2 percent from distance.

Two Patriots recorded double-doubles, as Boy Van Vliet recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Carter Brown added 10 points and 10 assists. For Concordia, Joe Neal recorded game-highs with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Manse broke Van Vliet's streak of three games leading the team in scoring. His 29 points mark a career high.
- The Patriots are 5-0 for the first time since the 2008-09 team started 8-0 on its way to an NCAA Regional Semifinal appearance.
- The Tornados forced DBU to commit 24 turnovers, a season high.

DBU HEAD COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE TEAM'S RESPONSE TO ADVERSITY
"Concordia gets a lot of credit for really taking us out of our comfort zone and forcing us into some uncharacteristic plays. They played great, but our guys responded and were able to adjust and do enough to keep us in the win column."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
2 - No Patriot had recorded a double-double before Van Vliet and Brown both pulled off the feat Friday.
37.9 - DBU made 13 three-pointers, accounting for nearly 38 percent of the team's scoring total.
4:51 - Concordia spent 4:51 with the lead. The Patriots entered the game having trailed for a total of 40 seconds all season.
