THE RUNDOWN
No. 24 DBU used its size advantage to defeat Dallas Christian 89-67 on Tuesday despite playing with a shortened bench. Brothers JT and
Brayden Harris combined for 39 points to lead the Patriots, with Brayden making his first career start in place of
Patrick Burke.
Hot shooting kept the Crusaders in the game, as DCC at one point was 12-for-23 from distance. Dallas Christian made one of its final nine three-pointers as the Patriots scored 28 of the game's final 44 points.Â
Brayden Harris recorded his first double-double as a Patriot with a game-high 20 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Chandler Jacobs finished a rebound short of a double-double of his own, with 16 points and nine boards.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Patriots made more than half their three-pointers for the second time this season.
- Tuesday's game was the fifth this season in which DBU had at least five players record double figures in scoring.
- The Patriots doubled the Crusaders' rebounding total, 38-19.
DBU HEAD COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON HIS TEAM'S SECOND-HALF PERSEVERANCEÂ
"We got some stops and some rebounds and were able to get some high-percentage shots on the offensive end with a little better ball movement. It didn't happen fast. It wasn't like it was a quick run, but just stringing together 'stop-score-stop,' and being persistent at that was what made the difference."
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
