THE LEAD
The DBU Men's Basketball team suffered an 84-70 loss to Central Baptist College in the semifinal round of the NCCAA Regional Tournament on Friday in McPherson, Kansas. Despite holing a three-point lead going into the half, the Patriots were outscored by 17 points over the final 20 minutes, as Central Baptist punched their ticket to the regional title game.Â
Myles Johnson led DBU (22-11) with 21 points, while
Boy Van Vliet added 11 points to join Johnson in double-figures.

With the game tied at 56 apiece with 11:28 left in the second half, Central Baptist's Mon'Darrius Benson put the Mustangs on top with a jumper. It would be a lead that Central Baptist would not relinquish, as they outscored DBU 28-14 over the final 11 minutes of the game.

Despite the loss, the Patriots have still earned an invitation to the NCCAA National Tournament in Winona Lake, Indiana, next week.
