THE LEAD
In their regular season home finale, DBU defeated Abilene Christian, 10-6, on Tuesday night at Horner Ballpark.
Seth Elledge closed the game out to tie Chris Haney for the most career saves in DBU's Division I history at 25.

Jimmy Fouse (4-0) threw four innings of scoreless relief with four strikeouts and just three hit allowed to earn the victory. David Ruot (0-4) suffered the loss after giving up three runs on two hits in DBU's six-run fourth. Elledge (11) picked up the save after converting the final two outs of the game.

A leadoff error committed by
Camden Duzenack set up Derek Scott for an RBI double on the following at-bat to give ACU a 1-0 lead in the opening frame. The Wildcats extended their lead to 3-0 on an RBI single and walk, each with the bases loaded. DBU loaded the bags in the bottom of the inning, and
Evan Sandmann drew a bases-loaded walk to cut the deficit to 3-1. After putting runners at second and third to lead off the second, coach
Dan Heefner removed starting pitcher
Trevor Conn in favor of
Jimmy Fouse, who retired three of the next four hitters and allowed a pair of runs that made it 5-1.

After a pair of leadoff singles in the bottom of the fourth,
Garrett Wolforth roped an RBI double off the wall in right field to cut ACU's lead to 5-2 and later scored on a single off the bat of
Jameson Hannah that made it 5-4. An
Austin Listi hit-by-pitch loaded the bases again, setting up
Matt Duce for a two-run double off the center-field wall to give the Patriots a 6-5 lead, followed by a
Tim Millard sac fly that allowed Listi to score and make it 7-5.

With two outs in the sixth, Millard picked up his 50
th RBI of the season on his 100
th career hit, a two-run single to left to extend DBU's lead to 9-5.
Travis Stone came on for the top of the sixth and, after allowing a leadoff single, retired the next eight Wildcats. Duce picked up his third RBI of the night on an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Patriots a 10-5 lead heading into the final inning. Stone loaded the bases in the top of the ninth before handing the ball over to closer
Seth Elledge, who gave up an RBI infield single to Luis Trevino to cut the lead to 10-6. Elledge retired the next two batters to close out the Wildcats.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - DBU hitters went 5-for-7 with runners on third and less than two outs in the game, and recorded four two-out RBI.
 - The win secures a 24-6 mark at Horner Ballpark for the Patriots, their best mark since it opened in 2013.
 - With a sixth-inning groundout, Listi passed Austin Knight for the most at-bats in DBU's Division I history with 830.
COACH DAN HEEFNER - ON THE SUCCESS OF THE BULLPEN
"Jimmy did a nice job. Last week at Sam Houston State, I thought he did the same thing for us. He's got a really good fastball, but I think he's really starting to learn how to pitch with it now, too. He locates it pretty well. He's thrown some good changeups, and he's mixing in his breaking ball.
Travis Stone is really consistent. That double-play ball was a huge momentum play for us when he first came in, so he did a great job as well."
JIMMY FOUSE - ON THE MINDSET COMING OUT OF THE PEN
"I just kept attacking hitters. I know our hitters can put runs on the board, so I had to just go attack their hitters and keep putting zeros up."
