Patriots Earn Second Straight Shutout in 1-0 Win Over TAMIU

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Soccer team (6-2 -1, 4-1-1 Heartland Conference) shut out Texas A&M International (2-6-1, 1-5) by a score of 1-0.

Kaci Parks broke the scoreless tie in the 44th minute with a top-shelf rocket from about 25 yards out. Emma Durain picked up the assist on Parks' goal.

Hope Koym stopped both of the Dustdevils' shots on goal. DBU only put three shots on target.


THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots still have not allowed more than one goal in any of their nine games this season. DBU has never started a season with such a streak longer than four games.

 - DBU has outscored opponents 11-2 in its last six games and has not lost during that span.

 - Parks is the ninth different Patriot to score a goal this year. She leads the team with 17 shot attempts.

"I did not think that tonight was a good showing for us. Texas A&M International played tough, They played very defensively and made it really tight, and really crowded. We were not able to solve those problems. Going forward, we're going to have to show that we can solve those problems in games."



INSIDE THE NUMBERS
0 - Cio Bargallo, who entered Thursday night second in the nation with 11 goals through eight games, was held to no goals on six shots.

3 - Katelyn Havard led DBU with three shot attempts.

5,293 - Leah Draper played 38 minutes Saturday, bringing her career total to 5,293. She is second all time in Patriot history behind  Rebecca Kernen, who played 5,436.
