THE RUNDOWN
No. 16 DBU held the sixth-highest scoring offense in the nation in check Thursday night in a 91-77 win over Heartland Conference rival St. Edward's at the Burg Center. The Patriots held the Hilltoppers, coming off a 17-for-35 performance beyond the arc in their previous game, to a 6-for-30 showing, including an 0-for-13 start. Â
The Hilltoppers' 77 points were their second fewest in a regular season game this year. Their .200 three-point percentage was their lowest of the year and the lowest allowed by the Patriots.
Patrick Burke took advantage of a size advantage to finish with a season-high 28 points on 14-16 shooting with seven rebounds. Four Patriots scored in double figures, as
Chandler Jacobs (15),
Boy Van Vliet (14), and
Jordan Manse (11) joined Burke in double digits. Van Vliet pulled in a game-high eight rebounds.
