The Patriots (8-4-2, 7-2-1 Heartland Conference) mounted an attack late in the game, pressuring the Newman (10-1-3, 6-1-3) defense for the majority of the game's final minute, but could not find the tying goal.
The Jets scored in the 72nd minute on a shot from the right of the goal box that found its way into the top left corner of the goal. The Patriots only recorded six shots, none of which went on goal.
