THE RUNDOWN
DBU (11-17) (4-7) fell against St. Mary's (14-13) (8-3) in four sets on Thursday evening inside the Burg Center. Senior Madeline Dolberry and Junior Emma Eakin both posted 12 kills each, while junior Kasey Holand recorded seven of her own. Junior Strealy Sizelove registered 27 assists and eight digs, while senior Lauren Nicks totaled 33 digs on the evening.

DBU jumped out to an early 6-3 lead led by sophomore Brooke Clark. St. Mary's would rally back to tie the match and then take the lead up 11-10. The Lady Patriots would answer with a run of their own to take the lead by one up 15-14. Another Brooke Clark kill sent St. Mary's into their first timeout. After the break, St. Mary's scored consecutive points to take the lead 18-16 forcing DBU into its first timeout. St. Mary's would hold DBU off the remainder of the set going onto win, 25-23.

In the second set, DBU scored the games first five points before the Rattlers got on the board. DBU held St. Mary's at bay before the Rattlers took a timeout down 11-7. After the timeout, St. Mary's tied the game at 12 all from a Channing Hankins kill. A tip in by Brooke Clark would tie the match back up at 15 before a Madeline Dolberry kill put the Lady Patriots up 16-15. DBU would continue to control the set and win 25-19.

In the third set, the Rattlers lead early up 9-6 before a DBU timeout. St. Mary's kept the pressure on DBU surging ahead 14-8 from another Channing Hankins kill. The Lady Patriots would go on a 3-0 run forcing St. Mary's into a timeout up 14-12. DBU tied the match up at 14 all, but St. Mary's would answer with a 5-0 run to go ahead 19-14. St. Mary's would lead the remainder of the set, winning 25-20.

Playing to extend the match, DBU and St. Mary's were tied at 7-7 before the Rattlers took the lead up one. DBU went ahead 14-12 before St. Mary's regained the lead to eventually go ahead 18-16. DBU took a timeout down 22-20, but St. Mary's scored the final three points to defeat DBU in three sets, 25-22.
