DBU extended its home winning streak to 26 games with a 95-60 victory Tuesday against Howard Payne at the Burg Center. The Patriots led for the entire game as they improved to 2-1 on the year. Freshman guard
Carson Hughes posted a team-high 33 points on 10-17 shooting while going 5-8 from behind the three-point line. Hughes' 33-point performance ties him for the ninth most points in a single-game in DBU Basketball history.
DBU continued its trend of locking down opposing three-point shooters, as Howard Payne was 3-16 from beyond the arc. The Patriots made 13 of 24 threes, good for 54 percent on the evening.
The Patriots had four players in double digit scoring, led by Hughes,
Chandler Jacobs (13),
JT Harris (11), and
Jalen White (11).

"We've definitely got some things that we can continue to improve on, but I thought the progress from Saturday to today was good," Flickner said. "I thought the energy was really good, they were talking a lot more, so there's a lot of things to be pleased with."
