Patriots Advance to Round Two in NCAA South Central Regional

THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Soccer Team advanced to the second round of the NCAA South Central Regional with a 1-0 win over No. 25 Westminster on Friday. Kaci Parks provided the lone goal and Hope Koym made four saves in the No. 5 seed Patriots' (13-5-3) shutout victory.

Parks' goal came in the 30th minute on a right-footed shot to the left corner of the net with an assist from Abigail Olmos. DBU outshot the Griffins (14-4-2) 7-2 in the first half and withstood a 10-shot second half to hold on for the victory.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - DBU earned its fourth NCAA tournament win since 2014.
 - The Patriots will face top-seeded No. 4 Colorado School of Mines on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Central. The Orediggers and Patriots have squared off in the postseason in each of the last four seasons.
 - DBU recorded its ninth shutout of the season.

We controlled most of the first half, and when the momentum shifted in the second half, we weathered the storm when necessary. We are excited and looking forward to another opportunity on Sunday."
