THE RUNDOWN
DBU erupted for 55 points in the second half in an 89-68 win over Oklahoma Christian. The Patriots (20-5, 9-4) made six of eight three-point attempts in the second half. OCU (9-15, 5-8) took an early 18-9 lead and retook the lead on its first possession after halftime, but succumbed to dominant stretches of DBU basketball.
The Patriots erased an early 18-9 deficit with a 16-4 run that spanned 8:25 and took a one-point lead into the locker room at halftime. The Eagles quickly regained the lead on a Miroslav Jaksic dunk 30 seconds into the second half and extended that lead to 37-34. A
Boy Van Vliet jumper put the Patriots ahead 38-37 with 17:22 to play, and they would never relinquish the lead.Â
A 13-0 run that lasted just over two and a half minutes helped the Patriots put the Eagles in their rearview mirror.
JT Harris scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the second half, making five of seven three-point attempts after halftime. Harris' eight rebounds were also a game-high.Â
