Patriots Pull Away Late in Senior Night Win

THE RUNDOWN
No. 24 DBU scored 40 points in 13:29 Wednesday in an 88-67 victory over St. Mary's on Senior Night. Patrick Burke followed a game in which he was held without a field goal attempt with an 8-9 performance and 19 points to lead the Patriots (22-5, 11-4 Heartland Conference).

The Patriots never trailed, but St. Mary's (7-20, 3-12) held DBU to four points over five minutes and cut the lead to 48-47 with 13:46 left to play. JT Harris made a three on the next Patriot possession, sparking a run that would see DBU outscore StMU 40-20 the rest of the way.

Burke scored six of the Patriots' first eight points

Chandler Jacobs contributed 18 points and a team-high seven assists off the bench. Boy Van Vliet added 17 points in his final home game as a Patriot. Carter Brown led DBU with seven rebounds and added six assists.
