THE RUNDOWN
DBU scored 10 times on 10 hits Thursday night to open Easter weekend with a 10-3 win over Southern. Matt Duce picked off two runners and hit his fourth home run of the season as Trevor Conn pitched five shutout innings in his first start of the year.

Duce connected for a three-run blast in the third inning, clearing the right field fence to give the Patriots (14-9) a 3-0 lead. DBU broke the game open an inning later, scoring five times in the fourth, capped off by a bases-loaded triple by Devlin Granberg.

Conn limited the Jaguars (7-17) to one hit and no walks through five innings of work. He struck out two batters as he lowered his season ERA to 3.07.

Southern got a run back in the sixth inning and two more in the eighth, all on singles by second baseman Franky Montesino.

Kody Funderburk drove in the Patriots' ninth run in the eighth, ripping a double down the right field line and advancing to third on the throw home. He scored on the next pitch when Hill Alexander dropped down a bunt base hit.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
