The DBU Men's Soccer team dropped its Heartland Conference opener 5-0 at St. Mary's on Thursday. The Patriots (2-2-1, 0-1-0 Heartland Conference) fell behind early and were unable to catch up.
The Rattlers (3-0-1, 1-0-1) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and extended their lead to 2-0 by halftime. St. Mary's scored two of its three second-half goals in the final 16 minutes of the game, including one with 2:15 remaining in regulation.
