THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Soccer team fought Newman to a scoreless draw Thursday at Newman. Hope Koym saved all five shots on goal as DBU (5-2-2, 4-0-1 Heartland Conference) earned its fifth shutout of the year.
Despite earning three corner kicks in the second overtime period, DBU could not find the game-winning goal. The Jets (7-1-1, 3-1-1) failed to score for the first time in 2018.
Abigail Olmos led DBU with four shot attempts, one of which was on goal. Only four Patriot shots were on target, tying a season-low set in the season-opening 0-0 tie at UC Colorado Springs.

COACH MICHELLE LENARD ON A TOUGH ROAD TEST
"Tonight was a tough test on the road. We got off to a slow start, and it took us a while to settle in and play our game, but as the game went on, we gained more control, and I thought we had the better play in the second half and overtime. We had some good opportunities to score late in the game, and I think we were a little unlucky to come away without a goal. It will be important to bounce back on Saturday and get a better start."
