THE RUNDOWN
DBU suffered its first conference loss of the season Saturday at the hands of No. 6 St. Edward's, 76-57. Despite the Patriots leading at half, a hot-shooting second half helped the Hilltoppers hold the lead for nearly the entire remainder of the game.

Jonathyn Washington added 20 points of his own, a new season-high for the junior from Frisco. Chandler Jacobs scored 18 points on 5-11 from the floor, good for 45 percent on the evening.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

- DBU drops to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in Heartland Conference play.
- The Patriots out-rebounded St. Edward's 40 to 39.

HEAD COACH BLAKE FLICKNER ON THE GAME
"St. Edward's showed tonight why they were the number six team in the country. They defended well, and after we guarded them well the first half, they really found their rhythm in the second half. We had way too many turnovers to beat a quality team like that tonight. Jonathyn and Chandler were bright spots for us offensively tonight and J.T. did a great job on the boards. God teaches through adversity, and we are having a great opportunity to learn and grow as men right now."
