Patriots Visit Laredo for Midweek Conference Battle

COUNTDOWN TO TIP-OFF
The DBU Men's Basketball team takes to the road to face Texas A&M International on Wednesday in their final regular season Heartland Conference game of the year for both teams. The Patriots are coming off a five-point loss on the road to Newman, 77-72.

Neither team led by more than five in the game's final two minutes, in a game that saw six lead changes for each side. DBU shot 49 percent from the floor opposed to Newman's 44 percent, but the game was decided on the free-throw line. Newman went 24-32 from the charity stripe while DBU shot nine of 14.

Chandler Jacobs led the Patriots with 21 points on nine of 13 shooting, while Jonathyn Washington added 12 points of his own. Zach Lord scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, while Carter Brown scored 10 points shooting 50 percent on the afternoon.

PATRIOT STORYLINES
- The Patriots are 13-7 on the season, the second-best overall record in the Heartland Conference tied with Newman.

- DBU is 4-1 on the season in games following a loss.
 
- The Patriots average 82.7 points per game and have a scoring margin of 7.1 points

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL
- The Dustdevils are 5-13 on the season and 2-5 in Heartland Conference play.
 
- Texas A&M International averages 60 points per game and shoots an average of 39 percent from the field per game.

- Damon Leach leads the Dustdevils in rebounds at seven per game.
 
- Xabier Gomez leads the Dustdevils with 16.2 points per game, and is coming off a 20-point performance in a loss to Rogers State.

ALL-TIME SERIES
The Patriots are 14-11 all time against the Dustdevils. DBU defeated TAMIU December 1st, 84-64 in Dallas.
