THE RUNDOWN
DBU (13-11, 5-7) fell to Texas A&M Commerce (18-4, 10-1) Saturday afternoon in the Burg Center. The Lions were able to sneak ahead at the end of the first two sets to garner wins and went on the take the third set.
Macey Winburn had a .571 hitting percentage on the match topping the leaderboard.

DBU jumped out to an early 10-5 lead backed by a couple errors from the Lions. A&M Commerce found some momentum to go for a 5-0 run to tie the game at 11-11 to force a DBU timeout. After the break the Lions were able to pull ahead by four before the Lady Patriots found themselves back at a tied game at 18-18. The Lions pulled ahead again at 22-20, but a 3-0 run backed by two errors and a kill via
Brooke Clark put the Lady Patriots back on top to force an A&M Commerce timeout. It was a fight for the final point of the game, but it was the Lions who notched a win at 26-24.

The Lady Patriots got out to an early lead over the Lions getting the first couple points on the board and maintaining their lead for the next 12 points. The Lions came back to tie the game at 12-12 and took the lead for the first time at 19-18 to force a DBU timeout. The Lady Patriots found themselves back on top at 21-20, but it wasn't enough to stop the Lions offense giving them the win at 25-23.

It was tight from the jump in the third set, but the Lady Patriots pulled out to a four-point lead at 7-3. The Lions were able to close the gap to tie the game at 10-10, but DBU stayed on top of them for the next seven points before the Lions took back the lead at 19-17. A series of errors by DBU allowed the Lions to expand their lead to win 25-20.
