DBU (13-12, 5-8) fell to Western New Mexico (6-15, 4-9) Thursday night. Western New Mexico took advantage of their home court to extend their winning streak over DBU to 3-0.
Strealy Sizelove posted three service aces in the second set to lead the match.

DBU trailed at the start of the first set against Western New Mexico, but a 4-0 run backed by a series of DBU kills and a Mustang error led the Lady Patriots back to a 12-12 tie. A 5-0 run helped the Mustangs take the lead and they didn't look back the remainder of the set to win, 25-17.

DBU pulled out to an early lead over the Mustangs in the second set. Western New Mexico closed the gap to a two-point deficit at 9-7, but a 3-0 run backed by a Kasey Hold kill and a couple Mustang errors advanced the Lady Patriots to 12-7. A kill via
Emma Eakin took the Lady Patriots to set point at 24-20, but a 6-0 run allowed the Mustangs to sneak ahead at the end to win 26-24.

Both teams were neck-and-neck from the jump in the third set. The match was tied at 8-8 before the Mustangs were able to pull ahead by two. DBU kept up their fight to tie the set again at 10-10 and didn't allow the Mustangs to gain much momentum. Two major blocks by

Hannah Tawney kept the game tied at 21-21. The Mustangs got the upper hand to win the set, 25-23.
