THE RUNDOWN
DBU (15-14, 7-10) fell to Lubbock Christian (15-11, 9-8) Friday night inside the Rip Griffin Center. Despite the loss, 
Alyssa Pevehouse had an outstanding performance posting a new career-high with 34 digs on the match. 
Kasey Holand also posted a new season-best with eight blocks and 12 kills.
 
Lubbock Christian jumped out to an early 9-3 lead over DBU after a 6-0 run put them on top to force a timeout. A kill and block assist from 
Kasey Holand and 
Emma Eakin helped the Lady Patriots to a three-point deficit at 13-10. The Lady Chaps pulled ahead again after a series of DBU errors to lead 20-14. The Lady Chaps able to take the lead in the first set, 25-18. 
Emma Eakin and 
Kasey Holand topped the leaderboard with 2 blocks apiece while 
Carly Earnest led with three digs.
 
The Lady Patriots came out strong in the second set leaving little breathing room for the Lady Chaps. Eight kills and a service ace by Keeley Hardin helped DBU keep a tied game for the first eleven points on the board. Still tied at 15-15, a kill via 
Carly Earnest backed by a block from 
Kasey Holand gave DBU the biggest lead of the set at 17-15. A series of blocks and kills by the Lady Patriots pushed the team ahead to lead 22-17. A final kill by 
Macey Winburn helps DBU to a win at 25-23.
 
The third set started much like the second with both teams matching the others effort. With the score tied at 7-7, a 3-0 run put the Lady Chaps on top to force a DBU timeout. Lubbock Christian kept the momentum for the rest of the set to stay on top and win 25-19.
 
In the fourth set, Lubbock Christian got ahead at 6-3 but it wasn't enough pressure to stop the DBU offense as they came back to tie the game at 7-7. Six more ties between the teams brought the score to 20-20. A few errors backed by a couple kills via 
Emma Eakin and 
Kasey Holand helped DBU to a win at 25-23. Three Lady Patriots topped the leaderboard in kills with 
Kasey Holand posting 11 while 
Brooke Clark and 
Emma Eakin were right behind with 10 each.
 
Lubbock Christian found some energy going into the fifth set to jump ahead to a four-point lead at 7-3. 
Emma Eakin went to post four kills on the set, but it wasn't enough to stop the Lady Chaps as they took the set 15-9.
