THE LEAD
The DBU Baseball team fell to Oklahoma on the road in a close 4-2 contest Wednesday in Norman, OK. The Patriots (3-1) scored twice on five hits with the help of a pair of Sooner errors, while six different DBU pitchers allowed four runs on seven hits in a game rescheduled from Tuesday in Dallas.
After OU (4-0) broke through with two runs in the second inning, the Patriots got one back in the fourth when
Jackson Glenn scored on a dropped fly ball.
Luke Bandy's second home run of the season cut the Sooner lead to 3-2 in the top of the fifth, but that was as close as DBU would come.
Parker Towns took the loss, allowing two runs in 1.2 innings in his first career start. After the pitching staff allowed three runs in the first three-plus innings, the combination of
Travis Stone,
Jarod Bayless, and
Burl Carraway combined to limit the Sooners to one run over the final 4.2 innings.
