DBU's season ended in a heartbreaking 72-70 loss to Texas A&M-Commerce in the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship South Central Regional. The Patriots (23-11) fought back to take the lead from Commerce (24-8) with 1:14 left in the contest from a sharp-shooting Conner Lidiak who finished 4-4 from beyond the arc.

DBU had the lead 70-66 with just over a minute remaining, when the Lions forced a turnover that led to a Carson Tuttle three-pointer to bring the Lions within one.

The Patriots missed the front end of a one-and-one, and Trey Conrod hit a contested lay-up with 23 seconds remaining. The Patriots had a possession with just under twenty seconds left, but Chandler Jacobs jumper was no good with just under three seconds in the game. Carter Brown heaved a game tying half-court shot at the buzzer that went long off the backboard, ending the Patriots season.

JT Harris led the Patriots with 23 points, his highest point total all season. Conner Lidiak was 4-4 from beyond the arc, scoring 12 points and totaling seven rebounds. Jordan Manse chipped in 10 points and had two assists, while Carter Brown totaled seven points on the evening.
