Offense Stays Hot in 13-6 Win Over Oral Roberts

THE LEAD
DBU's bats stayed hot Saturday in a 13-6 win over Oral Roberts at JL Johnson Stadium in Tulsa. Thee different players hit home runs for the Patriots (11-3), who scored 13 runs for the second straight game.

Jimmy Glowenke started a 4-for-4 day by singling home a run in the first. After the Golden Eagles (6-5) scored four runs in the first with the help of two triples, Hunter Vansau and Herbert Iser hit solo homers in the top of the second to cut the lead back to one.  A groundout by Vansau would drive in Glowenke in the fourth to tie the game.

Glowenke's second of three RBI singles on the day put the Patriots on top for good in the fifth. Andres Sosa's first hit as a Patriot was a three-run blast in the seventh inning to cap a five-run rally and put the game essentially out of reach.

Burl Carraway earned the win with three innings of one-run ball in relief of Luke Eldred. The sophomore left struck out eight, including seven in a row at one point. In total, Patriot pitching limited ORU to just two runs on six hits through eight innings after the Eagles' first-inning outburst.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - Carraway's seven straight strikeouts were one short of DBU's season-high, set by MD Johnson on March 2 against Houston Baptist
 - Each of the three DBU homers was the first by that player as a Patriot
 - Augie Isaacson extended his multi-hit streak to six games

COACH DAN HEEFNER ON HIS PITCHING STAFF'S EFFORT
"I thought Eldred did a good job of settling own after the first inning. It was important for him to be able to go a couple more innings. We just felt that with the momentum of the game, the middle of the game was going to be big, so that's why we brought [Carraway] in at that point. He was outstanding... He did everything we needed him to do and more."

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
43 - Jimmy Glowenke extended his reached-base streak to 43 games with his first-inning RBI single.
4 - The Patriots were hit by four pitches Saturday.
13 - DBU's 13 runs equaled the most ORU had allowed in a game all season, tying the Patriots' output from Friday night..

UP NEXT
The Patriots go for the sweep of ORU at 1:00 pm Sunday. MD Johnson (3-0, 3.12 ERA) will take the mound for the Patriots. He will be opposed by Isaac Coffey (1-1, 5.27).
