THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team fell 2-1 to Oklahoma Christian on Saturday evening at Patriot Soccer Field ending a two game winning streak. The Patriots (2-3, 0-1 Lone Star Conference) had several chances to tie the game but could not find the equalizing goal.
The Eagles (3-2, 1-0) scored their only goal in the 20th minute on a header by Thomas van der Meulen, who was fully extended to make the play. The Patriots answered in the 39th minute with a goal from
Brandon Torres on an assist from
David Velazquez.
The Eagles sent a cross in from the foot of Jesus Garcia that took an unfortunate deflection off a Patriots defender into the back of the net giving OC the 2-1 lead and victory.
