DBU Falls Narrowly to St. Edward's

Box Score THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team opened Lone Star Conference play with a narrow loss to St. Edward's on Thursday by a score of 2-1. The Patriots (2-4, 0-1) battled hard but could not find the goals needed to keep up with the Hilltoppers.

In the 21st minute, Chen Adjei found Michalis Clark for the goal to break open the scoring for the Hilltoppers. The teams battled back and forth, but a corner kick from Kieran Furse found Jason Lyons in the box to which Lyons finished the cross by putting it into the back of the net giving St. Edward's the 2-0 lead going into halftime.

Ethan Martinez scored in the 56th minute to bring the Patriots within one, but DBU could not find the equalizer before time expired.
