DBU (9-5) (2-2) fell to Texas A&M Kingsville (11-4) (3-1) Saturday afternoon on the road in Kingsville, Texas.
Keely Hardin posted another career-high with 36 digs while freshman
Kayla Brock posted a career-high 15 assists.

DBU came out strong in the first set leading 12-8 going into the first timeout of the match. The Lady Patriots maintained the pressure to go on a 4-0 run, with three kills and an error to extend the lead 17-11. The Javelinas came back to close the gap 22-21 after three DBU errors and two kills ahead of a DBU timeout. The Javelinas maintained the power to come back to tie the match at 22-22, but it wasn't enough to take down the Lady Patriots as they went for a 3-0 run after two errors and a kill by
Carly Earnest. DBU won the first 25-22.

There was little breathing room at the start of the second set keeping a tied game for the first five points. But it was the Lady Patriots who pulled ahead after two kills and an error to lead 11-7. The Javelinas battled back for a 4-0 run to tie the score 11-11 to force a DBU timeout. DBU maintained their lead for the next eight points at 19-15. The Javelinas came back to score four points in a row to tie the game at 19-19 to force a DBU timeout. The Javelinas found some momentum to go for a 5-0 run to lead 23-20, but two errors and a kill via
Brooke Clark tied the set again at 23-23. Â It was a fight to the end, but with two errors and a kill the Javelinas took the second set, 26-24.

The third set started just like the second, with both teams allowing little breathing room. At 8-8, the Javelinas pulled ahead after a 4-0 run, but a couple kills via
Emma Eakin and
Lexie Houston brought DBU back to a tied game at 11-11. A couple Javelina errors and another Houston kill helped DBU to a 3-0 run to force a timeout at 14-12. After the break, DBU held the lead at 20-16 with
Kasey Holand posting a couple kills alongside
Hannah Tawney. A couple more errors by the Javelinas led the Lady Patriots to match point with a final kill by
Brooke Clark giving DBU the win at 25-22.

The Javelinas came out strong in the fourth set to lead 7-2 ahead of the first timeout. The Javelinas were able to extend the 12-6 after a couple DBU errors. A&M Kingsville continued to be red-hot as they took the set, 25-20.

Both teams were neck and neck in the final set of the match keeping a tied game at 8-8. It was the Javelinas who pulled ahead after two errors by DBU. After a timeout, the Javelinas extended their lead to 12-8. The Javelinas kept their momentum to win the set 15-11.
