The DBU Volleyball team (0-1) fell in the first game of the Oredigger Volleyball Classic to the Colorado School of Mines (1-0) this afternoon at the Lockridge Arena. Junior

Emma Eakin following close behind with 6.
Alyssa Pevehouse also posted an impressive 14 kills in her first game back as a junior for the Lady Patriots. Â
In the opening set, the Lady Patriots jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead before the Mines tied the game 7-7. Freshman
Savannah Whitfield made her debut as a Lady Patriot along with redshirt sophomore transfer
Kayla Brock. In the first set, Brock posted 2 kills in her first appearance as a Lady Patriot. DBU fell short to the mines, 25-17.

In the second set, DBU struggled to get ahead of the Mines as they led the way from the start. DBU took a timeout as the Mines led 9-2. After the break, the Mines kept the pressure on the Lady Patriots as Colorado School of Mines senior Abby Tiesman led the team with four kills. The Mines won the set 25-8.

In the third set, DBU led 11-8 before the Mines tied the game 11-11. The Lady Patriots were neck and neck with the Mines before they took over and led 22-17, before a DBU timeout. The Lady Patriots fought back 20-22, trailing close behind the Mines.  Colorado School of Mines won the final set of the match, 25-20.
