THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Women's Tennis Team returns to the Lone Star State after a successful 2-2 weekend in Hawai'i. The Lady Patriots faced some of the best squads in the country in No. 8 Hawai'i Pacific and UC San Diego. Both matches were extremely close and DBU came extremely close to a pair of upsets, particularly against UC San Diego.
DBU started the trip strong, shutting out Chaminade, 7-0, for their fourth consecutive victory without conceding a point. The Lady Patriots then dropped back to back contests against No. 8 Hawai'i Pacific (0-4) and UC San Diego (1-4) before knocking off Hawai'i Hilo, 5-2.
Coach Wade Morgan got excellent play from freshman Ashton Wilfong in particular this weekend. Wilfong posted two wins in doubles and won all three of her singles matches. Wilfong now improves to 6-0 this season in singles play.
DBU now sits at 10-3 in the 2019-2020 season.
