THE RUNDOWN
The No. 21 DBU Men's Basketball team defeated Oklahoma Christian in a 90-79 road win Thursday afternoon. The Patriots overcame the Eagles behind electric performances from Carson Hughes (36 points on 11-for-12 shooting) and Chandler Jacobs (32 points, seven rebounds) to improve to 6-1 on the year.
In a game where bench points were hard to come by ( DBU 11, OC 10), DBU utilized a career-high performance from Carson Hughes to keep the Eagle offense at bay. Hughes was mechanical from three-point land (6-of-7) and perfect from the charity stripe (8-of-8) in a team-high 40 minutes of play. Chandler Jacobs served as the Patriots' offensive counterpunch; the senior guard poured in a season-high 32 points on 13-20 shooting.
William Heather had a complete game for DBU. The big man helped run the offense with a team-high eight assists while swatting shots at the rim with three blocks. Freshman Cameron Kahn chipped in nine points on 4-5 shooting from the field.Â

COACH RYAN GLENNEY ON THE WIN
"It's always an accomplishment to get a conference road win. OC out-toughed us on the glass and beat us to lose balls for most of the game... Carson had a special night for us along with Chandler. We have to learn and improve on film tomorrow in order to be ready to face these guys again on Saturday.'
