THE RUNDOWN
DBU (3-2) dropped Saturday's contest to the Dustdevils of Texas A&M International, 1-0 at Patriot Soccer Field. In a heated match with both squads battling for an edge, a Kristian Colaci free-kick handed the Dustdevils (3-5-1) a lead that would not be surrendered.Â
The Patriots generated plenty of opportunities throughout the game. Christian Naizer, Mason Wallak, and Ethan Martinez, spearheaded a DBU offensive effort that could not take advantage of a Dustdevils squad that allows over two goals per game. DBU's best opportunity at an equalizer arrived in the 50th minute when Wallak delivered a strike off a penalty kick that was corralled by TAMIU goalkeeper Natxo Faus.Â
The Patriots' 1-0 loss is just its second this season and snaps a three-game win streak highlighted by second-half heroics.Â
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

COACH JESS JOBE ON THE GAME
"We got to be careful playing with fire. It was another game where we were down 1-0 at halftime and forced to fight our way back...We are still working and maturing. We have to start games better and begin implementing our game plan sooner... We've got a young team that is still learning a lot about one another and learning more about our expectations as coaches... We've seen some really good moments and fought back in some really tough games, and we'll allow that to fuel us moving forward. "
