THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Tennis team completed their first weekend of the season with a perfect 4-0 record after taking a pair of matches against Hardin-Simmons and McMurry on Saturday in Abilene, Texas. In the first matchup of the day, the Patriots registered a 6-3 win over Hardin-Simmons, followed by a 7-2 victory over McMurry.
The Patriot trio of
Grant McKenzie (line 1),
Aaron Capone (line 2), and
Gabe Garrido (line 3), each went 2-0 in singles play. McKenzie and Capone also teamed up to win both of their matches in flight 1 doubles.
In their four matches on the road this week, DBU went 20-3 in singles play and posted a 10-2 record in doubles.
With the two wins today, DBU is out to a 4-0 start for the first time since 2018.Â

UP NEXT
DBU returns to Dallas for their home opener against Oklahoma Baptist at the Arlington Tennis Center on Friday. The match between the Patriots and Bison is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
