THE RUNDOWN
DBU dropped a 3-1 decision to A&M-Commerce in the final match of the regular-season on Wednesday night at the Burg Center. After falling in the first set, 25-15, DBU (3-9) rallied to even the match with a 25-20 win, before losing the next two sets.Â
With the third set tied at 13, the momentum swung in the Lions' favor when A&M-Commerce (4-6) went on a 5-0 run and never lost control, handing the Lady Patriots a 25-17 defeat.
In the fourth set, DBU struck first on an attack error, but after back-to-back points from Commerce, the Lady Patriots found themselves playing from behind the rest of the way and eventually on the wrong-end of a 25-15 score.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
-Â The Lady Patriots will now need some help from A&M-Commerce to defeat Texas Woman's twice next week in order for DBU to qualify for the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
- DBU honored four seniors on Senior Night, as the team paid tribute to
Brooke Clark,
Alyssa Pevehouse, and
Allison Shidaker, along with team manager
Taylor Jones.
- The Lady Patriots finished 0-4 versus A&M-Commerce during the regular-season.

UP NEXT
DBU will await the outcome of the Texas Woman's versus A&M-Commerce match-up next week. If Commerce wins both matches, DBU will secure the third spot from the Central Division in the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
