THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer team came up short this evening by a score of 6-0 when they traveled to Wichita Falls to take on Midwestern State in a midweek Lone Star Conference matchup at Stang Park.
On a windy afternoon the Patriots would come out in the first half playing head on into the wind. DBU would look to disrupt the play of the Mustangs throughout the first half and were able to succeed in certain areas around the field. Midwestern State was able to find some space in and around the Patriots box and ultimately find three goals heading into the half.
In the second half, DBU just wasn't able to click on the day and couldn't find any solid chances on frame. The Mustangs would close out the game and see their fourth win of the year.
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
 - The Patriots bench continues to see significant minutes throughout the season.
Chip Dutchik has turned to his players on the sideline several times this year and continues to rely on them to come into a game and make an impact on the field both offensively and defensively.
Â
 -
Koli McCullough is one of, if not the, most versatile player on the roster for DBU. McCullough has played the majority of his minutes in the 6 and 8 spots for DBU. Today, McCullough lined up out at right back and eventually shifted into the middle of the defense where he spent the majority of the game. The Crowley native is solid in any position that he sees action in.
Â
 - The Patriots young captains in
Mason Wallak and
Payton Franklin continued to lead DBU throughout the game today. The duo were solid in their positions in a tough outing against the Mustangs put look poised to continue to push this team forward.
