Women's Tennis Tops Cameron and UAFS in Weekend Play

THE RUNDOWN
DBU (11-3, 2-1 LSC) swept its weekend competition with a 5-2 victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith and a 4-3 win over Cameron on Friday and Saturday. With the wins, the Lady Patriots have now won three consecutive matches and bolster a conference record of 2-1.

DBU responded in resilient fashion after dropping the deciding doubles point versus UAFS. The Lady Patriots would recover from their early deficit by winning five of the six singles matchups for a comfortable 5-2 win.

The 4-3 victory over Cameron came in a much different fashion. DBU jumped out to an early lead by clinching the doubles point before splitting singles play 3-3. The trio of Kate Daugherty, Taylor Leslie, and Adriana Carpenter held off the Aggies in lines 1-3 to help preserve the win.

HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE WIN OVER UAFS
"We are taking this season one match at a time. We're learning from our losses and getting better as the year goes on. Our girls have responded well to some adversities this season and today was a great example of that... It can be tough to make a comeback after dropping the doubles point, but they came out in singles ready to play and got it done."

UP NEXT
DBU will return to Arlington to host three consecutive matches versus conference foes April 2-9.
