THE RUNDOWN
DBU (13-3, 4-1 LSC) extended its winning streak to five with a pair of 7-0 shutouts versus Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin on Friday, April 2. The Lady Patriots' five-match win streak is the best in the conference, as DBU sits just one game back of St. Mary's (4-0) for the top spot in the LSC standings.Â
Kate Daughtery -the reigning LSC Player of the Week- picked right up where she left off last weekend. The senior allowed just six combined points in line 1 singles to go undefeated on the day. DBU has recorded eight shutouts through the season's first 16 matches as the Lady Patriots continue their best start to conference play since 2012.
HEAD COACH WADE MORGAN ON THE TEAM'S RESPONSE
"We understood that both UTPB and WNMU would be scrappy, and our girls did a fantastic job responding to that... Our eyes are focused on the next three weeks as we prepare for the Lone Star Conference Tournament."Â
