THE RUNDOWN
The Patriots took game two of the doubleheader against Evansville, outlasting a late Aces' comeback, 6-5. DBU (24-11) used a five run fifth inning to take their second game of the series, enabling the Patriots to go for the series win tomorrow afternoon.
DBU scored first once again in game two on a Cole Moore RBI single. Evansville would respond with three consecutive runs, but DBU would roar back. In the pivotal fifth inning, the Patriots got an RBI single from Jackson Glenn to start the scoring. The Pats would then score four more runs on three walks and a hit-by-pitch with the bases load.
After Kyle Rich went 3.2 innings to start, DBU saw solid relief appearances from Chandler Arnold and Ray Gaither. Arnold would go 3.0 innings to earn the win, but it was Gaither who earned a 2.1 inning save to slam the door on the Aces. Gaither would shut down the Aces' rally in the seventh inning and blank the home team over the final two frames to secure the win.

DAN HEEFNER ON THE AFTERNOON:
" I thought we were very consistent in game two. That five-run inning was big for us. It was good to see Ray come out and be himself. He was landing his breaking ball for a strike. He's got great stuff, but he can really pitch and when he's got that going, he's just tough to hit."
