THE RUNDOWN
DBU dropped game one of Friday's doubleheader versus Bradley (17-17) by a score of 8-4. A spontaneous offensive outburst by the Braves' bats in the third and fourth innings placed DBU (29-12) in a quick 8-0 hole before the Pats would find an offensive spark.
DBU would find the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth, as Andres Sosa belted a two-run homer to left field. Moments later, Cole More added a big fly of his own to give DBU a quick three runs and the opportunity for a comeback. From that point, Ray Gaither would enter the game to relieve Dominic Hammel and cool off the Bradley offense. The righty dissected the Braves with five strikeouts in just 3.2 innings of work. However, the damage had already been done, as Jackson Glenn's left-field homer in the fifth inning would be the Patriots' last of the game as both sides posted zeros in the final four frames.
