Volleyball Stays Undefeated at Home, McNeill Ties Record in Win Over TWU

THE RUNDOWN
The Lady Patriots (19-3, 10-1) stay hot with a straight-set victory over Texas Woman's (12-10, 3-6). The victory extends DBU's winning streak to 10 matches, and the sweep is the Lady Patriots' 5th in 6 matches.

DBU came out swinging in the first. In one of their most impressive sets of the year, the Lady Patriots hit .533 in the frame while stifling the TWU offense to sub-.000 hitting. The Pioneers played from behind the entire set, and DBU waltzed to a 1-0 lead.

Set two was more of the first. TWU gained its first advantage of the match with a 2-0 start, but DBU bounced back quickly with a 9-2 run. The Lady Patriots had another steady offensive attack thanks in part to four kills on six attacks by junior outside hitter Abby Phillips and walked into the third eyeing back-to-back sweeps.

The flow of the game shifted in set three. Neither team led by more than a point through the first 25 rallies. Small bursts by DBU forced TWU to call its pair of timeouts. Despite their best offensive and defensive performances of the match, the Pioneers failed to stave off the Lady Patriots.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Lady Patriots have dropped only 4 sets during this 10-match winning streak.
- DBU improves to 10-0 at home. The win means that the Lady Patriots will set a new best for home winning percentage in a season regardless of the result of their last home game on October 29 versus St. Mary's.
- With her second-set ace, Kenzie McNeill is tied for the program record for aces in a season (39).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
.014 - The Lady Patriots' defense held the Pioneers to just a .014 hitting percentage in the match, including a –.188 first set.
.448 - DBU hit .448 on Saturday, their 2nd highest figure this season (.474 against Texas A&M International on October 8).
2 - Every Lady Patriot who recorded a kill had at least 2 on Saturday.
