STUNT Opens Season With Pair of Dominant Wins

The DBU STUNT program was in action on Friday at Texas Woman's University. The Patriots were up against UT Tyler and Texas Woman's winning 19-1 and 20-2. Next up, DBU will be hosting a two-day tournament on February 18 and 19 at home against the likes of TWU, Missouri Baptist, University of Kentucky and Oklahoma Baptist.

DBU- 19, UT Tyler- 1
Quarter 1 - Partner Stunts
Score: 4-0
The Patriots competed Routine 6, for the first time in DBU history, hitting and receiving the point.
Standout- Hailey Lisenbee

Quarter 2 - Pyramids and Tosses
Score: 7-1
The Patriots were steady through the second, moving into the half up by six.
Standout- Daniela Vargas

Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling
Score: 10-1
The Patriots limited UT Tyler and didn't allow them any points for the quarter.
Standout- Emma Eason

Quarter 4 - Combination Routine
Final Score: 19-1
The Patriots focused on this quarter this week to stay consistent through all routines, doing just that today.

The Patriots swept this quarter, receiving all four points.

Quarter 3 - Jumps and Tumbling
Score: 11-1
Routine 5 looked strong this quarter. DBU competed in routine 6 but received no points due to a minor error.

Quarter 4 - Combination Routine
Final Score: 20-2
Another first in program history, the Patriots won all possible points for quarter 4's in both games.

"It was a fun opening weekend getting to play two lonestar conference teams and coming home with two wins. A lot of what we had been focusing on this week, we were strong in today," said Head Coach, Callie Taylor. "We have a special group this season and I am looking forward to seeing what they can do."
