THE RUNDOWN
The DBU Men's Soccer Team fell 1-0 to Lubbock Christian this evening in a game that showcased the talent of LCU goalkeeper, Tom Miles. Despite the many Patriot attempts, none found the back of the net.
The Patriot offense made a valiant effort against the Chaps with 10 shot attempts in the first half. DBU's charge was led by Peyton Voelker, who had four shots in the first 45. Even with these opportunities, LCU scored first, off a shot by Saimon Gjeci in the 39th minute. The Patriots went into halftime trailing by one.
DBU was even more in control offensively in the second half, attempting 11 shots compared to LCU's two. The Patriots were able to keep the ball in their attacking half but had nothing to show for it. The game came down to a battle of goalkeepers, which was ultimately won by veteran Tom Miles, who had 10 saves on the night. Miles and the LCU defense held the Patriots off until the clock ran out, resulting in a 1-0 loss for DBU.
