Preview
For their third meet in three weeks, the DBU Men's Track & Field team will be heading south to Houston to compete in the Victor Lopez Classic on the campus of Rice University.  The meet will be split into two days with the distance events scheduled for Friday evening and everything else on Saturday.

Events to Watch
Friday evening's running will kick off with the 1500m race, headed by Luke Ronsman, racing as the lone Patriot in his heat. Also taking on the 1500m is Luke Browning, Isaac Pendley, Hudson Yarborough, Daniel Medrano, and Michael Serna. The 5000m run will be raced by the senior pair of Jeb Williamson and Adam Whitehead before the 10k of Drew McLaughlin, CJ Hobbs, and Gabe Zumar. Mixed in will be the 3000m steeplechase for Luke Brooker and Colton Howard

On Saturday, leading it off for the sprinting events, DBU will race freshmen Zach Guerra and Luke Lawton in the 400m. Lawton will be back for the 200m, toeing the line with Matthew Moore, Connor Neuse, and Christopher Kyser. Christopher Foreman is entered to race both the 110m and 400m hurdles. DBU is also planning on racing a 4x400m relay.

Patriot Ponderings
The two-day affair is a great opportunity for DBU to race against elite competition before hitting a difficult training stretch over the Easter weekend with no meets.  The opening evening designed just for distance races gives the time under the lights a little extra juice, which can translate into fast times.  The following Saturday has a mix of events throughout the day, ending with the 4x400m relay, a great capper to a long weekend.
