Johnson's Complete Game Lifts No. 11 DBU to 3-2 Win at Air Force

THE RUNDOWN 
No. 11 DBU used a complete game by Ryan Jonhson to take home a 3-2 victory over the Air Force Falcons at Erdle Field at the Air Force Academy in Colorado on Friday.

The Patriots struck first for two runs in the top of the third, using an RBI single from Miguel Santos and a sacrifice fly from Ethan Mann to jump out to a quick 2-0 lead.

Air Force followed with a solo homer from Sam Kulasingam out to right field in the bottom half of the inning and would tie the game in the sixth when Jay Thomason came home on a wild pitch.

With the game still tied in the ninth inning, Michael Dattalo laced an RBI double to right center field off of the Falcons' Doyle Gehring to put DBU up 3-2.

In the bottom of the ninth, Johnson sat the Falcons down in order to end the game. The Patriots' Friday night ace finished his second complete game of the year, allowing just seven hits and striking out nine without allowing a walk.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
· Ryan Johnson becomes the first DBU pitcher since Taylor Massey in 2012 to throw two complete games in one season.
· Chayton Krauss went 3-4 on the afternoon and has reached safely in all 32 games this year.
· DBU won their seventh series opener of the season.

254 - Ryan Johnson has compiled 254 career strikeouts, passing Victor Black (2007-09) today for the fourth-most strikeouts in DBU's Division I era.
17 - Ryan Johnson earned his 17th career win, moving him into a tie with Brandon Williamson (2010-11) for the sixth-most wins in DBU's Division I era.
