In a highly competitive race, DBU placed fourth at the Lone Star Conference Championships with 109 points. West Texas A&M was dominant from start to finish, scoring just 37 points and sweeping the top four individual spots. Midwestern State edged out UT Tyler for second, 77 to 80, to round out the podium.
Megan Williamson was leading the way for DBU, placing fifth overall at 21:40.37. After a short gap, a strong pack of Lady Patriots followed closely behind to complete the team's scoring five: Avery Frank (22:50.70) in 24th, Courtney Richman (22:52.48) in 25th, Addison Lopez (22:53.27) in 26th, and Anastasia Tronicek (23:03.09) in 29th.
Although the Lady Patriots finished off the team podium for the first time since 2019, the result tells only part of the story. This young squad showed promising potential, with two freshmen among DBU's top five and three in the top seven. Williamson was the only scorer with postseason experience and was without her longtime teammate
Lesli Salas, sidelined by a season-ending injury. While inexperience rarely yields immediate results, the team's performance highlights a foundation that bodes well for the program's future.
