Men's Basketball Rolls Over Adams State in Dominant Home Victory

THE RUNDOWN
Friday night, DBU (3-4) toppled over Adams State (4-3) in dominating fashion at The Burg Center. Daniel Figueira led everyone on the floor in scoring with a career-high 18 points, and six Patriots ended in double figures.

Drew Calderon opened the scoring with a three-pointer after two-plus minutes of scoreless basketball. For the second time this season, DBU finished a game without trailing at any point. Throughout the first half, the Patriots would rattle off several runs of five to eight points, but went into the halftime break as owners of an 11-0 stretch and a 55-25 lead. Cody Stevens stood out in the opening frame, leading everyone with 14 points on 100% efficiency. Stevens was a perfect 5/5 from the field, four of which were behind the arc.

The second half brought more of the same for the DBU. 15 of Figueira's points came in the second frame, as 12 different Patriots recorded points in some fashion during the final 20 minutes. Freshman Isaiah Dozier recorded five points and a steal in his five minutes of playing time, continuing to impress on both ends of the floor. The Patriots would finish with 113 points tonight, their highest scoring game of the season.
