SERIES HISTORY
- DBU leads the all-time series 3-0 after sweeping the Flames last year at Horner Ballpark.
- This weekend marks the first time DBU has played a series in Lynchburg, Virginia.

PATRIOT STORYLINES

- Weekend Warriors: DBU's sweep of Kennesaw State marked their sixth series sweep of the season. The Patriots have also won 12 of their 13 weekend series this year.

- RPI Rising: The Patriots have climbed to No. 21 in the latest RPI rankings released by D1Baseball.

- CUSA Title Chase: DBU's magic number is down to two heading into the final three games of the regular season. Any combination of DBU wins and WKU losses that totals two will clinch the title for the Patriots.

- Krauss Catching Fire: Senior first baseman Chayton Krauss earned CUSA Hitter of the Week honors after a monster weekend, hitting .455 with three home runs and 10 RBI against Kennesaw State.

- Offensive Firepower: The Patriots' boast one of the most potent offenses in the country, ranking 8th nationally in slugging percentage (.553), 9th in scoring (9.1), 10th in on-base percentage (.431), 14th in home runs (88), 16th in doubles (115), 18th in batting average (.313), and 20th in walks (290).

- Golden Spikes Spotlight: DBU's all-time home run leader, Grant Jay, was recently named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, recognizing the top amateur baseball players in the country.

- Senior Sensation: Center Fielder Nathan Humphreys is the first player in program history with 200 hits, 30 home runs, and 50 stolen bases in a career. He also became the seventh Patriot to start 200 career games last Saturday.

- Power Trio: DBU features three of CUSA's top home run hitters: Grant Jay - 17 HR (2nd), Nathan Humphreys - 15 HR (5th), and Chayton Krauss - 13 HR (6th).

- Borberg's Brilliance: Right-hander Ryan Borberg has won each of his last six starts. During that span, the junior has posted a 1.84 ERA in 34.1 innings of work.

- Strikeout Specialist: Sophomore flamethrower James Ellwanger ranks 9th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings (13.2), a mark that also stands as the sixth-best in DBU history.

- Glove Work: The Patriots' .982 fielding percentage ranks 7th in the country and matches the program record set by last year's squad.

SCOUTING LIBERTY

- Home Stretch: The Flames hold a 29-23 record entering the final weekend of the 2025 regular season. 

- Recently: Liberty sits at 9-15 in CUSA play following a 2-1 series win over Florida International. Despite winning the series, Liberty was outscored 11-12 across the three-game set.

- Holding On: The Flames currently occupy the last eligible spot for the CUSA tournament over MTSU by a margin of one game.

- The Arms: The Liberty pitching staff currently rocks a team ERA of 4.64. 

- The Go-To's: RHP Josh McCusker and LHP Josh Swink lead the team with 20 and 19 appearances, respectively. McCusker has the prettier ERA, sporting a 4.25 clip.

- The Producers: The Liberty lineup only features two qualified hitters with an OPS over .900: Camden Troyer (.933) and Nick Barone (.912).

- The Big Sticks: The Flames have swatted 53 total home runs through 52 games. Jaxon Sorenson leads the group with 13 big flies, followed by Troyer and Barone, who have ten each.

- The Wheels: Liberty is moderately active on the basepaths, averaging 1.54 steal attempts per game. They pick their spots well, currently rocking a team-wide 81.3% success rate on steals. Tanner Marsh leads the team with 17 swipes on 20 attempts out of the two-hole in the lineup.
