THE RUNDOWN  
The Patriots sent half of their squad to the Mustang Derby, where they finished fourth overall with 76 points. Racing for the second time in six days to open the season, DBU delivered a strong performance against Lone Star Conference foes UT-Dallas (1st, 41 points) and Cameron (2nd, 46 points). 

  

Senior Drew McLaughlin submitted a top-10 performance to lead the Patriots in scoring, finishing 9th overall with a time of 19:34.7.  Freshman Jack Reeves gained momentum in the second half of the race to place as DBU's second scorer, taking 13th at 19:45.1. Adam Knight followed in 16th (20:00), followed by Wesley Payne (23rd, 20:11.9) and Lucas Acevedo (28th, 20:17) to round out the Patriots' top five.  

 
UP NEXT  

DBU is not done racing this week.  The second half of the team will travel to College Station for the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday, September 13.  The 8k race will begin at 8:00am on the Watts Cross Country Course.
